For those that don’t know, I currently photograph Friday and Saturdays at Downtown Orlando’s The Beacham. Friday and Saturdays, hip hop predominates the music. The following are pics of couples I photographed. Enjoy!
Wonder how your local nightclubs rate to worldwide industry standards? Do you know why many nightclubs prefer wooden dance floors? Think you know the real difference between a bar/lounge and a nightclub? (This blog’s pic is actually a lounge.)
A Facebook post by Orlando promoter Rick Rodriguez explains all of this. Rick is also an owner and operator. School us, Rick.
Last month, I attended a Tim Burton Tribute show at Orlando’s The Falcon. Actually, I just happen to show up the same night the event took place. Central Florida artists created art inspired by Tim Burton movies. My camera phone pics of the art are too shitty to post. Yet, I did get good pics of dudes as dressed as Beetlejuice and The Joker.
Here’s a YouTube video by Mathew Duncan.
Recently, I patronized Orlando’s Lil Indies and saw skateboard decks displayed on the walls. Each deck contained artwork. The exhibit is called Decades of Skate Part 2: 1990 – 2015. I missed the silent auction held recently. The show displays from mid-March to mid-April.
First, here’s the press release info: Inspired by a true story, Al Pacino stars as aging 1970s rocker Danny Collins, who can’t give up his hard-living ways. But when his manager (Christopher Plummer) uncovers a 40 year-old undelivered letter written to him by John Lennon, he decides to change course and embarks on a heartfelt journey to rediscover his family, find true love and begin a second act.
I now possess three passes to see Danny Collins. The passes are for two people, the winner and a guest. The tickets are valid for any Regal theater in the Orlando area. How to get them is easy. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. First come, first served.
Last night, Orlando promoter Ryan Pemberton posted a rant about bands paying for play. I say rant. Yet, I found his Facebook post very informative. So informative I think more people need to read it. School these suckas, bro.
UPDATE: This damned thing done went viral! Recently, Mr. Pemberton has received many Facebook requests. Ryan and I are in Orlando. Peter Kissane from Germantown, Wisconsin alerted Ryan to another sneaky game promoters pull with bands. It’s almost the same as pay to play. Yet, this is an updated version of it. Let’s go back to school, kiddies!
