On March 7, rappers Coolio and Vanilla Ice headlines the first outdoor concert for the recently-opened Tin Roof.
Most folks know Vanilla Ice for the 1990 hit song “Ice Ice Baby“. During this time, he performed at Orlando’s The Beacham. “Ice Ice Baby” was the first hip hop song charting number one on the Billboard charts.
Now, Vanilla Ice hosts The Vanilla Ice Project, a home remodeling show on DIY Network. Plus Vanilla Ice is recording new music.
Back in the 90s, Coolio released three known hit songs: “Fantastic Voyage“, “1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin’ New)” and “Gangsta’s Paradise“. For “Gangsta’s Paradise”, a soundtrack song for the movie Dangerous Minds, Coolio won a 1996 Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance.
He’s also a trained chef who published the cookbook Cookin’ with Coolio.
Tin Roof doors open at 6:30 PM. The yet-to-be-announced opener goes on at 7:30 PM. Coolio hits the stage at 8:30 PM. Vanilla Ice is scheduled for 9:30 PM to 11 PM.
Tickets are $20 pre-sale and can be only purchased online. You can purchase them at Tin Roof’s website.
Ages are 21 and up. Plus food and drinks will be available at separate tents. (They didn’t say but I don’t expect food to be free.)
Tin Roof’s address is 8371 International Drive, Orlando FL 32819. Parking is free.
